Cookbook Giveaway – Now Eat This

Cookbook Giveaway – Now Eat This

With the holidays fast approaching, I thought I’d spread a bit of holiday cheer of my own.  I’ll be hosting a few giveaways (and even giving away a few things of my own) throughout November and December. Sound like fun? I thought so!

This week, I’ll be giving away two signed copies of Rocco DiSpirito’s book Now Eat This. Whether you keep it for yourself or give it to someone on your gift list who likes to cook, this is a giveaway that you won’t want to miss.

About the Book…

In his book Now Eat This, Rocco takes everyone’s favorite “guilty pleasure” foods (150 of them!) and lightens them up.  Not only do the recipes come in under 350 calories each, but Rocco also shares healthy tips and ingredient substitutions that will surely help you to lighten up some of your favorite recipes.

Now, I’m not one to count calories (I have tried it in the past, and it just doesn’t work for me), but I also can’t afford to eat a steady diet of cookies, cupcakes, and cream sauce.  So, I’m always looking for some healthy meals to throw into the mix – especially around the holidays!  Sure, there are times to enjoy your favorite pizza recipe or dig into a bowl of fettucine alfredo, but there are also times where it’s good to have a few healthy tricks up your sleeve.

I’ve tried a few of the recipes from the book and really enjoyed them.  The marinara sauce was one of my favorites (I do love a good Italian dinner!). I served it with some whole wheat pasta for an easy, light dinner one night last week.  Of course, I did add a smidgon of parmigiano-reggiano to the top of mine, but, like most strongly flavored cheeses, a little bit goes a long way! I’m also looking forward to giving the Un-Fried Chicken a try very soon!  For more details about the book (and a few sample recipes), you can check out the Now Eat This site.

Win a Signed Copy of Now Eat This

Here’s how you can win your own signed copy of Now Eat This, signed by Rocco DiSpirito himself… Comment on this post by Thursday (November 18th) at 10:00pm (EST) and share your favorite indulgent dish. I’ll randomly select 2 winners to receive the book and announce them this Friday, November 19th.

Please note that the contest is open to US Residents only.

Of course, if you don’t win the giveaway, you can pick up a copy of the book from Amazon.com. You’ll also want to be sure to follow Rocco on Twitter (@RoccoDiSpirito) for more healthy tips and recipes!

Eating healthy is very important to me because I had cancer 32 years ago, and am left with a lot of radiation and chemo damage. So, this cookbook would provide me with what I need. Comfort & healthy food.
My favorite indulgence has to be pasta. Any kind of pasta comforts me: spaghetti, penne, elbows, angel hair, etc. You name it, pasta helps to take the pain and sickness away.
