Chipotle Barbeque Turkey Sloppy Joes

2011-03-01_TurkeyBBQ-250px

My husband will eat almost anything with barbeque sauce.  Eggs, potatoes, tacos… You name it, he’s probably tried it. I used to take offense to it when I would prepare what I thought was a great dish (like a frittata or fajitas) and he would slather it up with barbeque sauce. I have gradually come…

Asiago Turkey Meatballs

I don’t make a lot of “regular” dinners…

I try not to make too much “blog only” food during the week, so the majority of what you see here on the site is what we’re eating. As a result, I don’t tend to make the same thing too frequently… And, I often opt for new recipes and flavor combinations.

Happy Thanksgiving

2010-11-25_ThanksgivingCookies-250px

Today, I thought I’d take the opportunity to wish you and your family a very happy Thanksgiving! I love to cook and bake for the holidays.  I will be doing some baking and preparing the sweet potatoes, but I’m not the one preparing the turkey for our Thanksgiving dinner this year.  I couldn’t go without…

Friday Favorites – Thanksgiving Guide (Episode 73)

2010-11-19_ThanksgivingGuide.jpg

I have hosted Thanksgiving dinner at my house for the past couple years. This time around, I have the year off. Yellowdog (our yellow lab, in case you were wondering) has to remain “calm” and is not allowed to play with kids, other dogs, and relatives for the next few months until she has fully recovered from her knee surgery. So, that pretty much means that there will be no big get togethers at my house for a few months, either.

That doesn’t mean I won’t be cooking, though! I plan to make a side dish or two, and of course I’ll be taking some sort of dessert. I will also be traveling with my handy dandy meat thermometer, which I believe is the key to a perfect Thanksgiving turkey. Whether it’s my kitchen or my mom’s, there’s no better place to be on Thanksgiving day!

Ham and Turkey Club Sandwich

Since I chose sandwiches for this month’s Kitchen Bootcamp challenge (against my better judgment, perhaps), I have been forcing myself to attempt some new sandwich recipes, even though I’m not much of a sandwich person. So, as promised, today I am sharing my second sandwich recipe. One of the sandwiches that I love, but rarely make…

Friday Favorites – Episode 67

Ready for the weekend? I know that I am… This week has been a busy one and I’m looking forward to some time to relax. Perhaps I’ll even have time to try a few of these great recipes… I love this Turkey and Bean Chili from How To: Simplify… It is the perfect dish for…

Turkey Tacos

I first started cooking for myself when I was in college and lived in an on-campus townhouse with 3 other roommates.  Taco night was always a big hit. We would pick up one of those taco kits – you know the ones, with taco shells, salsa, and a taco seasoning packet. All we had to…

Teriyaki Turkey Burgers

As promised, here is my recipe for teriyaki turkey burgers! Once you have made my homemade chunky teriyaki sauce, they are really quite simple… But, they don’t taste simple, at all. Don’t you love dishes like that? I know I do! I made these burgers the first time we used our new grill. They were amazing…

Cheesy Baked Penne

While everyone is concerned about swine flu H1N1, it seems another disease is spreading rapidly this fall. It’s spreading like wildfire from blog to blog.  That’s right, I’m talking about cook’s block or food blogger’s block. Just yesterday, I was discussing this very issue on Twitter with Lucy and Kamran after reading their recent blog posts…

Friday Favorites – Episode 26

I’m getting a late start on my Friday Favorites this week!  Usually I try to pick my favorites and write my blog post on Thursday evening.  I’m not a last-minute person! I was always the obnoxious kid in school who started researching a term paper the day it was assigned and had it written with a…
