Friday Favorites – Etsy Edition (Episode 115)

2011-11-28_GiftGuide-250px

All week, I’ve been talking about holiday gifts… After all, the holiday season is now in full swing! I know Etsy’s been around for a while now, but in the last year I have really started doing some shopping on Etsy. And, I can’t get enough! So, for this week’s Friday Favorites, I thought I’d…

Friday Favorites – Episode 102

This week, I’ve been thinking a lot about my writing and my photography. Since attending the Big Summer Potluck last weekend (I apologize if you are sick of hearing about it!), I have felt a renewed sense of inspiration to really work at improving as a writer and as a photographer.  Instead of just going through…

A Reflection on the Big Summer Potluck

I am a pen and paper kind of girl. That may seem a bit strange since my life is so wrapped up in computers and smart phones. But, I am a note taker, and there’s just something about writing with a pen and paper. I still carry a planner and I make to-do lists for…

One of My Favorite Things (12 Days of Christmas Giveaway)

2010-12-16_RestaurantwareGiveaway.jpg

Over the past few months, I have become somewhat obsessed with the catering supplies from Restaurantware.com. You’ve seen lots of their biodegradeable bamboo tableware featured here in my photos.

I am a minimalist when it comes to decor, tableware, and food photography. You have probably noticed that already! When it comes to furniture, I love clean, simple lines and basic shapes. I feel the same way about tableware… I like to keep it simple and let the food to speak for itself. I think that’s what I have loved so much about the bamboo tableware. I find that it lends itself well to a variety of food but it doesn’t take over the picture. The food is still the star, which is just the way I like it!

Something’s Different…

2010-10-18_Changes

If you’re looking at my site today thinking that something looks a bit different, you are correct… Actually, there are a few things that are different, but they are subtle. It’s not a full facelift (I can only handle one of those a year… maybe even one every two years)… Instead, it’s more like new lipgloss or a slightly new haircut.

I spent the weekend working on making a few changes that have been on my to do list for a while. Nothing is drastically different, but I think I have made some improvements. I hope you will find that things are easier to find and more accessible. And, I have even taken the time to update a few of the previously neglected pages!

Friday Favorites – Episode 60

Before I get into my favorite posts of the week, I wanted to give one last friendly reminder about the Kitchen Bootcamp challenge for July… Today is the last day to submit your salads and dressings.  I will be posting the roundup tomorrow! Now that my little reminder is out of the way, let’s talk…

Friday Favorites – Episode 58

It’s been a few weeks since I wrote one of my regular Friday Favorites posts… It seems that live is getting in the way a bit this summer! So, as I was going through my RSS reader this week, I came up with a few extra posts this week that I thought were worthy of…

Friday Favorites – Episode 33

If you were expecting a new Friday Favorites photo this week, I apologize.  You would think that I could have found something (anything!) in the thousands and thousands of pictures I have taken, but no. I am having trouble finding a suitable replacement for the current photo.  I will keep working on it, though. Some…

Friday Favorites – Episode 30

Last week many of you insisted that I should continue to write my Friday Favorites each week…  Well, your wish is my command! I’m writing this edition of my Friday Favorites on Thursday night because I have a busy weekend coming up! I will fill you in on all the details in the next few…

Adventures in Photography…

A few weeks ago, Kamran of The Sophisticated Gourmet mentioned (via Twitter) that he would like to see a comparison of the same photos taken by a digital SLR and a point and shoot camera. I thought it was a fascinating idea, so I filed it away, making a note that I wanted to give…
