Kitchen Bootcamp Roundup – Custards, Creams, and Mousses

Kitchen_Bootcamp_Logo.jpg

This month was one of my favorite challenges since I started Kitchen Bootcamp last April (can you believe it’s been over a year now?)…  We all know that I am a big fan of desserts (especially ice cream), so I had great hopes for this challenge. While I didn’t have nearly as much time as…

Challenge: Custards, Creams, and Mousses (Kitchen Bootcamp May)

Warmer weather is on the way… I was doubtful for a while, but the last week or two have proven that it is true! When the weather is warm, I always have one thing on my mind… Ice cream!  So, naturally, that has affected my choice for the May Kitchen Bootcamp challenge.  I knew that…

I have been known to stare at different fonts for 2 hours at a time and rearrange the same widgets 10 times because I can’t decide which layout looks best!

The November 2009 Daring Bakers Challenge was chosen and hosted by Lisa Michele of Parsley, Sage, Desserts and Line Drives. She chose the Italian Pastry, Cannolo (Cannoli is plural), using the cookbooks Lidia’s Italian-American Kitchen by Lidia Matticchio Bastianich and The Sopranos Family Cookbook by Allen Rucker; recipes by Michelle Scicolone, as ingredient/direction guides. She…

Last Minute Pumpkin Mousse Dip

If you’re looking for last minute Thanksgiving ideas, I recommend this quick and easy pumpkin dip.  It’s not one of my usual “from scratch” recipes, but it’s great in a pinch. It’s one of my favorites, and it is always a big hit. It can be served with dessert or as a pre-dinner snack.  We…

My First Puff Pastry (Daring Bakers September)

The September 2009 Daring Bakers’ challenge was hosted by Steph of A Whisk and a Spoon. She chose the French treat, Vols-au-Vent based on the Puff Pastry recipe by Michel Richard from the cookbook Baking With Julia by Dorie Greenspan. Puff pastry is why I joined the Daring Bakers. I was ecstatic when I saw…
