Friday Favorites – Episode 120

FridayFavorites_new.jpg

For the first week in quite a while, I spent quite a bit of time in the kitchen this week.  It was a nice change, and I enjoyed having some time to be elbow deep in bread flour and butter.  I’m sure by the time next week rolls around, I’ll be busy again… But, for…

White Bean Soup with Sausage and Kale

This time of year we start to get kale in our CSA boxes on a fairly regular basis. I know a lot of you have probably tried the ever-popular baked kale chips, and you may love them… But, I really can’t say that I’m a fan.  Sure, if you add a lot of oil and…

I warned you last week that I’m obsessed with garlic scapes… And, also that I stockpiled them and had quite a few garlic scape recipes coming your way. Well, here’s another one! I guess you could say that I am also somewhat obsessed with stuffed pasta, especially in the summer! I love to use whatever…

Friday Favorites – Episode 85

This week has been a crazy one! I’m writing this post early (on Wednesday) since I’m headed to New York City on Thursday and Friday. I’ve been getting ready for my trip, trying to get some work done, and also doggy sitting for my parents this week.  Needless to say, my house has been a bit…

Kitchen Bootcamp Roundup – Braising and Stewing

Kitchen_Bootcamp_Logo.jpg

Even though it’s only a few days shorter than other months, February always seems to just fly by.  I can’t believe it’s already time to talk about this month’s Kitchen Bootcamp posts! I’m glad that so many people enjoyed braising and stewing this month… It was a chapter that I often skip over (it often seemed…

Tomato Braised Chicken with Kale

Each year for Valentine’s Day, my husband and I make dinner together.  Since I usually do all of the cooking, it’s a fun change to have some help and company in the kitchen. A few years ago, we choose this recipe for Chicken Saltimbocca… I’ve been craving Italian food lately, so when I decided to make braised…

Kitchen Bootcamp Roundup – Soups

2011-01-31_KB_Soups_logo.jpg

Another month of Kitchen Bootcamp has come to a close. This month’s challenge was to make soup… What could be better for the month of January?

Though I haven’t posted them all, I’ve actually made quite a few soups this month. We’ve had some cold and snowy weather (though, not as much snow as I know many of you have had), so there have been many nights where I just craved some soup.

White Bean and Kale Soup with Roasted Sausages and Tomatoes

It’s been downright chilly around here lately. Granted, it’s not nearly as cold as it is in Boston, Chicago, or Minneapolis… But, it has been cold!

So, when I have been thinking about what to make for dinner each night, soup is constantly the first thing that comes to my mind. I guess that it’s handy that soup is the theme for this month’s Kitchen Bootcamp challenge!

Friday Favorites – Episode 76

FridayFavorites_new.jpg

Now that the holidays are over, it’s time for me to get back to writing my usual Friday Favorites post! It’s been a few weeks, so I thought I’d just jump right in and get straight to the blog posts this week…

Butternut Quiche with Kale and Sausage

2010-10-14_ButternutQuiche-250px

Yesterday I promised you a savory recipe using pie dough, so here it is! We grew quite a few butternut squash in our garden this year, so I’ve been dillegently working to make puree and stock my freezer (you can puree butternut squash the same way you would puree pumpkin). The last time I made…
