Kitchen Bootcamp Roundup – Crisps, Cobblers, and Fruit Desserts

Kitchen Bootcamp Roundup – Crisps, Cobblers, and Fruit Desserts

This month’s Kitchen Bootcamp challenge was a huge success… It seems that all of the beautiful fresh fruit in season was just the inspiration that everyone needed to create some pretty fabulous fruit desserts.  I’ve really loved reading everyone’s blog posts this month, and I’m looking forward to trying a few new recipes in the near future!

I made two simple fruit desserts with the fruit we received in our CSA share this month… Plum Crisp and Apricot Blueberry Cornbread Cobbler.  They are both easy to throw together and fabulous with a scoop of vanilla ice cream!

Cherry pie is one of my favorite desserts in the summer… So, I can’t wait to try these Cherry Pie Muffins from Chelsea’s Culinary Indulgence.  I love how she added a lattice top with the frosting!

I love fresh peaches… I’ve been known to bring 20 pounds of peaches home with me when I go picking at the orchard. I need to give this Old Fashioned Peach Cobbler from My Adventures in the Country a try very soon. Perhaps I should go peach picking again soon!

This Blueberry Banana Tart from Roxana’s Home Baking has me wishing that blueberry season had lasted just a little bit longer around here.  It’s even vegan and gluten-free!

I admit that I am especially partial to crisps and crumbles… This Nectarine Cherry Crumble from A Sweet Twist of Blogging is at the top of my list to try. Yum!

Apple season is just around the corner… I am ready for the cooler weather and some nice, crisp apples to bake with. And, at the top of my baking list will be some Apple and Walnut Pasties from eat. live. travel. write.

Anyone who has a CSA can probably relate to getting sick of a particular ingredient… For me, plums are the fruit that I’ve already had my fill of from our fruit CSA this summer.  Until now.  After seeing these Goat Cheese Stuffed Plums from Teacher By Day – Chef By Night, I am happy for the extra plums I still have hanging out in the fridge.

Berries and cherries, oh my! I haven’t had much of a sweet tooth lately, but I can’t get enough fruit.  I think I could eat a few bowls of this Berry Cherry Crisp from Mangoes and Chutney.  A scoop of ice cream on top doesn’t hurt, either.

As a cupcake lover, I can’t wait to try these Chocolate Strawberry Cupcakes with Mascarpone Frosting from Roxana’s Home Baking. I am especially intrigued by the mascarpone frosting.
