Friday Favorites – Episode 133

Friday Favorites – Episode 133

Friday is here again, and it’s time for another fresh batch of Friday Favorites!

Some weeks I have a theme in mind when I am looking for favorite blog posts for the week… Other weeks, a theme kind of presents itself as I’m reading. Then there are the weeks where individual recipes just jump out at me.  They have nothing in common, but I just feel that they are too good not to mention.  This is one of those weeks.  I have no great theme or common element among the recipes other than the fact that I think they are good.  No, not just good… Great.

I will be giving all of these recipes a try in the near future (though maybe not all at once)… And, I’m hoping that you will, too!

  • As they often do on Brian’s site, the photos of this Pesto-Coated Carrot and Parsnip Fettucini from A Thought for Food immediately caught my attention.  I had barely scrolled past the first picture to start reading the text and I already knew I just had to give it a try.
  • Mint grows like a weed in my garden, and I’m always trying to think of good ways to use it instead of just ripping it out of the ground and throwing it away. This Mint Cookies and Cream Ice Cream from Oven Love seems like a pretty good solution to me. You can’t go wrong with ice cream.
  • If you’re not already familiar with the Dubliner cheese from Kerrygold made with Irish Stoudt (they are in no way sponsoring me… I just love the stuff), go buy some. Then, make this Mac & Beer Cheese from Sugarcrafter.  It’s a bit early to think about Father’s Day, but I’m thinking there are a few dads out there who would be thrilled by this one!
  • Now that we’ve got Dad covered, let’s talk about a more dainty recipe that is sure to please the ladies out there.  Check out these Lavender and Lemon Scones from Bake at 350. They are just beautiful… And, I’m pretty sure they’d be a lovely addition to your next brunch, bridal shower, or baby shower.
