That Works For Me … The Book!

That Works For Me … The Book!

Today I’m doing something a little different… I’m not sharing a recipe or a kitchen tip, but I think you’ll want to stick around anyway.  I’ve got an e-book that you won’t want to miss… And, if you stick around a bit longer, I’m even giving one away!

Works for Me Wednesday

If you’re a regular reader here at My Kitchen Addiction, you are most likely familiar with Works for Me Wednesday…  You’ve seen my posts with kitchen tips, simple recipes, and other ideas that I think are too good not to share. It would be wrong to spend so much time in the kitchen and refuse to share the tips and tricks that make things just a bit easier… So, I love to share.  Sharing is good!

But, that is just a tiny piece of the picture.  There are hundreds of other bloggers who also submit tips each week.  Of course, not all of them are kitchen tips, but that makes it even better! I may be able to tell you how to whip up a frittata or give you a simple formula for pie crust, but want to know how to get a stain out of your favorite shirt? I will be of no help to you. But, someone else can!

The Book!

Since the Works for Me Wednesday blog carnival generated so much useful and helpful content over the years, Kristen and Jennifer had the brilliant idea to organize some of the best tips into a book. Now, instead of trying to remember which blog posted that great tip on how to clean your computer keyboard (again, not my department!), and spending way too much time looking for it (when you could already have a clean keyboard), you can just go right to the book!

The book has over 800 tips ranging from kitchen tips and recipes to ideas for parenting and pets.  You’ll find great craft ideas, cleaning tips, and ways to get more organized.  And, that is really just scratching the surface. After getting my copy, I started paging through the book, and I quickly had a list of no less than 30 tips that I just had to try right away.

Not only is the book a great source for information, but it’s also a great way to support the blogging community. The book is designed to help you discover new blogs and highlight bloggers who have some great information that you may not have otherwise found. The book features tips from hundreds of different bloggers (including me!), so you’re guaranteed to find some new favorites.

And, if that’s not enough, you’ll also like to know that Kristen and Jennifer are donating a portion of the proceeds from every book to Mercy House, a maternity home that offers safe refuge for pregnant girls living in extreme poverty in Kenya.

The Contest

To kick off the launch of the book, Kristen and Jennifer also hosting a fabulous contest… You can win a gift certificate (for $150!) for a free house cleaning! Believe me… That is one contest that I would like to win, but it seemed wrong not to share the opportunity with you, as well.  To enter the contest, all you have to do is submit a tip of your own!

What a great idea for the eBook. I save so many magazines with recipes, favorite patterns, photos of places, and ideas I like, but I can never ever find them again. I would love ideas on organizing. I have found some on Pinterest, but I can’t exactly build built-in drawers under my staircase in an afternoon. Thanks much for the giveaway.

I’m not entering the contest. I just downloaded my copy and can’t wait to go through it! What a great idea for a book and I love that it is helping Kristen’s Mercy House.

    Organization tips are always wonderful.

  4. It’s a toss up between cleaning and organization for me.

  5. Natalia says:

I need help with cleaning too!

  6. This is fantastic news! Kudos to all of you! I really need some tips on time management and keeping my desk clean – I never sit at it because it’s a mess, so I end up working at the dining room table, so I end up getting distracted by everything else in the house… it’s a vicious cycle.

I need help with everything but cleaning comes in first. Thanks for the book giveaway.

  10. I think one area I would love to get magical help with is “children’s mishaps”
    You know the kind.
Crayon on the carpet, toothpaste on the towels, grubby footprints on the walls (yes, really!) type things!
    Great book idea :-)

Blogging, cleaning, gardening, homeschool, hospitality, kitchen, laundry, marriage, organization, recipes, and time management! Sorry, couldn’t pick just one! :)
