Friday Favorites – Episode 114

Thanksgiving is now less than one week away! Oh my!

Despite the fact that I’ve been thinking about food for Thanksgiving for a few weeks now, it seems that I haven’t really made many decisions regarding what I’m actually making. Fortunately, I did remember to order a turkey ahead of time, so I’ve got that much covered. But, I’m still perusing all of my favorite blogs for some fun ideas to make this year’s dinner unique.  Hope you’ll find some inspiration, as well…

  • I am a firm believer that pasta is an acceptable side dish for Thanksgiving. And, I think this Roasted Butternut Baked Penne from How Sweet It Is would be a perfect addition to the meal. Plus, you could make it ahead of time, which is perfect if you are traveling and have to take a dish!
  • Looking for a fun cocktail idea to serve before your Thanksgiving dinner? I’ve got my eye on this Cranberry Ginger Fizz Cocktail from Creative Culinary. It looks so refreshing and festive!

You can do all of the prep the night before, and then you and your guests can enjoy a stress-free and tasty breakfast the next morning!
  • Looking for some dessert inspiration for your Thanksgiving dinner?   2. I’m trying to figure out how to find room in my stomach for baked pumpkin french toast on Thanksgiving :) PS: My aunt loves egg noodles at Thanksgiving. I wonder if she’d like this penne dish…
