Friday Favorites – Episode 108

Friday Favorites – Episode 108

I love to bake all year long, but I think I enjoy it the most in the fall. This week’s selections for my Friday Favorites certainly reflect that. I had good intentions of choosing a few savory recipes, but there were just so many sweet ones that grabbed my eye. I’m hoping you’ll love them as much as I do!

  • When I was in high school, I worked at an ice cream parlor, so I am all too familiar with malted milk powder. I haven’t touched the stuff since, though. But, now I think I’ll be adding it to my shopping list because this Malted Milk Ice Cream from Tracey’s Culinary Adventures has caught my eye.
  • Molasses is one of my favorite flavors this time of year. I just love the rich, dark flavor that pairs so beautifully with all of my fall favorites like pumpkin and apple cider. At the top of my baking list for this weekend is a batch of these Ginger Molasses Cookies from A Sweet Spoonful. Be sure to take a moment to read the rest of her blog post, too. It’s a fabulous one.
  • Don’t you love when you stumble across a recipe that seems like it was made just for you? That’s exactly what happened when I saw these Rum Caramel Chocolate Cinnamon Cupcakes from Chasing Delicious. Rum, caramel, chocolate, and cinnamon happen to be four of my favorite things. Wrap them all up in a cupcake? I’m sold.
  • I wanted to pick a savory recipe to include this week, but then I saw these Nut Caramel Bars with Dried Cherries from Honey & Jam. How could I neglect to include them in my favorites this week? I just love nuts and caramel, and I think the slightly tart and tangy flavor of dried cherries is just the perfect addition.
