New York City Cookies

As you’re reading this, I am on my way to New York City!  I bet you can’t figure out what inspired these cookies…

It’s been a little while since I posted any cookies here on the blog, so I figured it was about time.  I wanted to put together some cookies to send to a friend, so I decided to make some New York City cookies… It seemed like a fun way to get in the mood for my trip!

When I was thinking about New York cookies, the first thing that came to mind was to make taxi cookies.  Fortunately, I happen to have a car cookie cutter in my collection, so I was good to go! While I was at it, I decided to be a bit brave and do some circle cookies, as well (since I need the practice… circles are always a huge challenge for me)… I had some leftover black icing, so I piped the skyline and a few buildings onto the cookies. On their own they weren’t too spectacular, but I thought they turned out pretty cute paired with the taxis.

The cookies are all packed up and on their way… And, so am I! I’m only going to be in the city for two days, but I’ve crammed a lot of fun into those two days.  As you would expect, I’ll be enjoying lots of fun food and hanging out with some great (food blogger) friends.  You can be sure there will be photos on Twitter and on my Flickr page after I get home!

Ooohh…This is so sweet and thoughtful. Nothing beats a homemade gift. It’s even better when it’s homemade cookies that are beautifully crafted. I am sure your friend would love it. If I were your friend, I wouldn’t bear to eat those cookies. They are just so pretty.

I am looking to give NYC taxicabs as a party favor, just like the ones you have wrapped in plastic. Do you sell these, or do you recommend and place where I can order something similar?
