Friday Favorites – Episode 86

Friday Favorites – Episode 86

Another week has come and gone!  It’s hard to believe it.

After enjoying the gorgeous weather last weekend while I was in New York City for a few days, it has gotten cold and rainy again… In fact, we are supposed to have lows in the 20s overnight and I’ve seen some flurries. That’s not really my idea of spring weather, but I guess it’s not really up to me, is it?

All of this cold weather has had me in a bit of a baking mood this week. I’m sure I’ll be sharing some new recipes soon, but I’ve also noticed a lot of great baking recipes this week from some of my favorite bloggers!

  • I know that I have plenty of recipes on my site for cinnamon rolls, but you won’t want to miss these Easy Cinnamon Buns from Hungry Rabbit. I had the pleasure to meet Ken in person last week while I was in NYC, and he mentioned these cinnamon rolls that can be made in less than 1 hour. I couldn’t wait to see them, and they look even better than I imagined! And, did I mention they can be made in less than 1 hour?
  • I was never one to eat the frozen hot pockets when I was in college… They just aren’t my thing. But, these Nutella, Banana, and Coconut Hot Pockets from How To: Simplify are absolutely my thing… They look perfect for a sweet breakfast for an afternoon treat!
  • We have some close friends who are huge Harry Potter fanatics just like we are… We’ve been known to have weekend movie marathons to prepare ourselves before a new movie comes out. So, for our next movie night, I’ll be making this Butterbeer Cake from Sugarcrafter to help celebrate!
  • I could eat pumpkin all year long… In fact, I have quite a bit of pumpkin puree from my garden stockpiled in my freezer at the moment.  So, you know I’ll be making this Peanut Butter Pumpkin Coffee Cake from Family Fresh Cooking very soon. Judge if you want, but I’ll be quite happy eating my pumpkin!

P.S. I’m taking a break this week from my Pantry and Playlist features… It seemed like a good idea, but I’m not really so sure any more. So, I’d love to know what you think… Should I bring them back? Or are you honestly not interested? Don’t worry… I won’t be offended either way.

  1. Gotta tell you I need to forget about “seasonal” when it comes to pumpkin. At least you have it stored in the freezer. I keep buying cans of the stuff! With the cold weather still here it is fair game to eat it often. Then again I will be saying the same thing in the summer :) Thanks for including me on this list of goodies. xo

I’m so excited you’re going to make the butterbeer cake!! You’ll have to let me know what you think. :-)

  3. Peanut butter and pumpkin are two of my favorite flavors! I can’t wait to check out that coffee cake:-)
