Happy New Year!

I just wanted to take a few minutes to wish everyone a Happy New Year!

This past year has been a great year here at My Kitchen Addiction.  It’s hard to believe I’m approaching 2 full years of blogging already!  I’ve had the opportunity to travel, meet new friends, and spend lots of time in my kitchen cooking and baking!

Things have been a bit slow around here for the past few days.  I’ve taken a (much needed) break this week, but rest assured that I will be back with new recipes next week.  I am looking forward to 2011 and a whole new year of cooking and baking adventures!

Until then, I’ll leave you with a few pictures of the cookies I decorated this week…  I was having some fun baking off cookies from my leftover frozen Christmas cookie dough (butter rum and gingerbread).  These were some “just for fun” cookies, so I was just playing around.

My original inspiration was to decorate some penguin cookies (based on some cute hand towels I got a few years ago at Target)…  Then, I started thinking about New Year’s Eve, so I decorated some party hats, too.  To tie it all together, I added little hats to the penguins.  I imagine they’re having a little penguin party for New Year’s Eve.  That’s my story and I’m sticking to it!
