Friday Favorites – Episode 61

It’s time again for my Friday Favorites!  I’ve been busy this week getting ready to head out to the Big Summer Potluck tomorrow. Next week is going to be busy for me, too, so I’ve been trying to work ahead on blog posts and recipes. At this point, I am starting to feel a bit weary and ready for a bit of relaxation… What could be a better way to relax than to check out these great posts from the past week?

  • I am loving the bright and fresh flavors in this Lemon Pasta with Zucchini and Feta from Sugarcrafter.  It looks like the perfect meal for a summer evening (and a great way to use that overabundance of zucchini that everyone seems to have this time of year)!
  • I’ve been avoiding these Muffins That Taste Like Donuts from goodlife {eats} for a while now. I have seen her tweets, and I’ve been trying hard not to give in.  My problem is that as soon as I make them, I know that I will devour them all. I like donuts… There, I said it. I’m adding these to the list.
  • For me to say that I like chocolate would be quite the understatement.  I am definitely a chocoholic.  So, it should come as no surprise that I am currently infatuated with this Chocolate Cobbler from How Sweet It Is. I can always count on Jessica for some chocoholic approved desserts!
  • Growing up in Central Pennsylvania, I’m a big fan of shoofly pie (and all things molasses, really). Naturally, I’m intrigued by this Cinnamon Shoofly Ice Cream from Oven Love.  Cutting up a piece of pie and adding it to a lovely cinnamon custard based ice cream. Yes, please!

One of these times when I’m back in the area, we’ll have to get together for a Lancaster County feast!

Jen, would you believe I didn’t actually get any of those donut muffins at the Big Summer Potluck? I kept meaning to go back and grab one, and by the time I did, they’d been whisked away for lunch. Guess I’ll just have to make them! Your attention to detail on this site and on those cookies is spectacular, and I’m so glad to have met you this weekend!
