Friday Favorites – Episode 60

Before I get into my favorite posts of the week, I wanted to give one last friendly reminder about the Kitchen Bootcamp challenge for July… Today is the last day to submit your salads and dressings.  I will be posting the roundup tomorrow!

Now that my little reminder is out of the way, let’s talk blog posts, shall we? Here are just a few of my favorites from the past week…

  • I’m loving this Lavender Lemonade Martini from Vino Luci Style. Even if you’re not the martini drinking type, be sure to check this one out.  You could definitely leave out the alcohol and have a perfectly lovely lemonade!
  • I saw a tweet about Four Manual Settings You Need to Know for Shooting Food on the New York Times Diner’s Journal Blog and I thought I’d pass it along.  It’s a great introduction to ISO, aperture, shutter speed, and white balance!  Even if you use those settings regularly, it’s a nice quick refresher on the subject.
  • I keep going back to look at this Coconut Mango Rice Pudding from Evil Shenanigans.  I never seem to have coconut milk in the house (I use it too fast and forget to buy more), but if I did, I would have made this 3 or 4 times this week. Coconut milk is now on my grocery list so that I can make this very soon.
  • I am also quite enamored with this Caramel Popcorn from La Fuji Mama… I always get hungry for popcorn during the summer (probably because of the amazing kettle corn at Hersheypark) and I have been making (and eating) a lot of it lately. This is going on my list of must makes!
