Friday Favorites – Episode 57

It’s Friday again, which means it’s time for my Friday Favorites! I’m doing my best to get back to posting a weekly favorites post (despite a busy summer schedule), so I’m making a special effort to write this week’s post a bit early.

We’ve had a busy week of relaxing (isn’t that always how it works), so I’ve been trying to write my blog posts ahead of time this week.  Thanks for sticking around through my “quick and easy” recipes and down time.  I’ll tell you more about what I’ve been up to next week.  I also have a new Kitchen Bootcamp video in the works for my yeast breads challenge, so you’ll have to stay tuned for that. For now, though, be sure to check out these great blog posts…

  • I try to mix it up and share posts from different blogs each week, but this time you’ll have to forgive me. I know it’s a “repeat blog” but this post just had to be mentioned. Check out this lovely recipe for Tuscany in  a Jar (salt and herb rub) from Juls Kitchen… I can’t wait to make a batch of this and put it on everything. I’m thinking it might even be incorporated into some bread for a Kitchen Bootcamp recipe!
  • You know that I love cookies, and you also probably know that I absolutely love Bake at 350. So, it’s only natural that I had to share these Cute as a Button cookies with you! They really are “cute as a button” and the post has a great tutorial on how to make button decorations of your very own. I’m looking for a good reason to make some of these!
  • I’m hitting all of my favorite blogs in this week’s favorites.  It seems like everyone was at the top of their game this week. Here’s another amazing post from one of my favorite bloggers… I love these Jamaican Beef Patties from the Sophisticated Gourmet.  This is not only a great recipe, but a great story about learning to cook with family!
  • Speaking of favorites, if you’re in the mood for dessert, you can never go wrong with something from She’s Becoming DoughMesstic. Perhaps I can recommend this Lemon Meringue and Fresh Raspberry Cheesecake? Not only does it combine my favorite pie with cheesecake, it is absolutely stunning, too. I hope that one day I can make desserts that are half as pretty as this!
