Friday Favorites – Episode 54

Yesterday afternoon, I decided that it was about time that I tackle the mess in my basement. We had a big yard sale last weekend and got rid of lots of things that had been taking up space, so I no longer have an excuse not to clean things up. I’m planning on using some shelves in our basement for additional kitchen storage, so I got started transferring some dishes to quilted storage boxes/bags and then I somehow got side tracked. I got this idea to start moving furniture around upstairs in my kitchen/dining room (which is really one big open room). Now, I have moved furniture around quite a bit, and I have giant piles of stuff all over the place that needs to be put away. I think I also need to make another trip to Ikea.

So, I don’t have a lot of time to chat today… I’ll be getting right to the Friday Favorites, and then getting right back to work. Hopefully I can make some progress this afternoon so that I can start using my kitchen again. Why do I do this to myself?!

• I love tomatillo salsa, so I’ll definitely be giving this Fresh Tomatillo Salsa from Pinch My Salt a try very soon. In fact, I’m due for some new homemade Chipotle recipes, and I think this salsa will be a great addition!
• You must take a look at these Mum Cupcakes from Tracey’s Culinary Adventures. Don’t they look absolutely perfect? I’m not going to give away her secret for the perfect flower petals… Go find out for yourself!
• I’ve mentioned that  my hubby and I have been cutting back on the amount of meat we eat. We do still have it on occasion, though, and I think I will be saving this recipe for Rosemary Garlic Steak Marinade with Oregano Garlic Butter from Dianasaur Dishes for a special occasion. Anyone want to come over for a cookout?
• Finally, I have to mention this lovely Nutella Panna Cotta from bell’ alimento. You all know how much I love Nutella, so you know I’ll be making this very soon.
