Friday Favorites – Episode 10

In an effort to get this week’s Friday Favorites done on time (in contrast to the past two weeks), I am writing this blog post on Thursday evening.  You will be reading it on Friday, though.  That is the beauty of technology and the ability to schedule posts ahead of time!  If only I was on top of things enough to write all of my posts ahead of time and schedule them… maybe someday!

Ok – on to my favorite posts of the week.  I don’t really have a theme this week for my Friday Favorites.  I had quite a few starred posts in my RSS reader, and I had a difficult time narrowing it down, as usual.  I am including a few new blogs that I have discovered recently, as well as some of my favorites that I haven’t mentioned in a while.  Trying to avoid sending you to the same blogs week after week.  Enjoy!

  • I just came across these Strawberry Muffins from The Other Side of Fifty today. After scrolling down through a few of the older posts, this blog got added to my RSS reader.  Be sure to take a look at her photographs – they are beautiful.
  • I don’t think I have talked about Simply Scrumptious in a little while – but it is one of my favorite blogs. Jessie consistently posts great recipes and I really enjoy reading her NYC restaurant reviews. Her Grilled Avocado Salad with Cilantro Lime Chicken sounds delicious – and I was intrigued by the idea to grill the avocado.  I will be trying that very (very) soon.
  • I have also recently added Nutmeg Nanny to my RSS reader. This recipe for Balsamic Strawberries and Fresh Cream is simple but it sounds delicious.  I am looking forward to giving it a try with some of my Rubio aged Balsamic.
  • Another blog that I always read is Bakers’ Banter, the King Arthur Flour blog.  They always have wonderful recipes using the King Arthur products, which I happen to be a fan of. This post about using their whole wheat white flour in cookies is great.  I am always trying to use more whole grain products, and these cookies look delicious!
