Good luck! I'm with you, I only make things from scratch, but Asian cuisine also intimidates me! You can totally do it!

Looking forward to your adventures! You should see if your town has an Asian grocery and just jump in and buy some scary looking ingredients. Then you can get them home and Google to find recipes to use them in. I bet the Asian grocery and real Asian ingredients will be great inspiration.

You know, I really like the Annie Chun's Soup Bowls if you're looking for a simple, healthy Asian meal.
Good Luck on facing your fear :)

If you need any ideas for ingredients or recipes let me know. Having an Asian husband and Mother-in-law gives me some pretty rockin resources! Good luck!!

You will do great! I had a fear of yeast for a while but I am proud to say that once I actually tried it and concentrated on what I needed to do, it worked out really well and my fear was conquered. I do still have some other things to work on :) One great cookbook that i learned about Asian flavors from (the only cookbook I've actually used) is Jean Georges and his recipes are very easy to follow.
