Double Berry Sauce

Recently, I have been making a lot of pancakes.  There’s just something great about having hot pancakes on a cold winter morning. While I enjoy my pancakes with butter and syrup, I was in the mood for something different, so I made this double berry sauce.  I served it for breakfast, but it would make a great topping for angel food or pound cake, as well.  It’s quick and easy, and it can be made at any time because it is made from frozen berries.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup frozen raspberries
  • 1 cup frozen sliced strawberries
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup sugar

Directions

Combine the berries, water, and sugar in a small sauce pan.  Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 10-15 minutes.  Cool slightly before serving.
